Nestled at the base of the red-hued Santa Rosa Mountains, La Quinta is a resort town located 25 miles east of Palm Springs. Its quaint Old Town is lined with cobblestone sidewalks and is a popular spot for leisurely shopping and outdoor dining. Art on Main Street, an Old Town tradition, is held several weekends a year and hosts over a hundred artists throughout the season to display and sell their wares.
Considered a leading golf destination in the US, La Quinta boasts several world-class public and private golf courses, including the famous PGA West, home to the Desert Classic (formerly known as the Bob Hope Desert Classic).
Outdoor enthusiasts also love Lake Cahuilla, a natural oasis, and surrounding 710-acre park, offering many activities including, camping, fishing, horseback riding and spectacular views for a picnic. Another local favorite is La Quinta Cove, with a network of hiking trails that lead through the dunes, mountainsides and desert landscape.
