Mid-century modern architecture in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Palm Desert has been famous because of the big names attached to their design and build; From the 1950s and on, architects and home builders have been responsible for making the desert cities so rich with what we call today the mid-century modern architecture. The most famous of the architects are Richard Neutra, John Lautner, Donald Wexler, Walter S. White, Albert Frey, William “Bill” Krisel, Hugh Kaptur, William F. Cody, John Porter Clark, the Alexander Construction Co. (land developers and builders), John Meiselman (land developer, architect, and builder).
