Disney launches ‘Cotino’, its first master-planned community, near Palm Springs

Cotino development by Disney

Ground was recently broken on Cotino, an exciting new community in the heart of Greater Palm Springs, an area which once felt the footsteps of Walt Disney himself. Our beautiful, mountain-ringed valley was once a rejuvenating retreat for Walt and Lillian Disney.

Cotino, the first “Storyliving by Disney” master-planned community, will be developed in Rancho Mirage, Calif., by Arizona-based DMB Development. This 618-acre, themed home development is the first of its kind for Disney, with home sales expected to start in early 2023 and the first residents projected to begin moving in there in early 2024.

The project, which includes a resort with a 400-room hotel and a 24-acre swimmable lagoon, is located off Bob Hope Drive, between Frank Sinatra and Gerald Ford drives, and across from the entrance to the Sunnylands Center and Garden.

In addition to the resort and hotel, Cotino will offer a mix of about 1,924 homes, including estates, single-family homes and condominiums, and a 55-plus community. All homes in the development are planned for full-time residents and will be sold at market price. The development will also feature a town center area with shops and restaurants.

Disney says the lagoon will be open for public use, but a voluntary membership for Cotino homeowners will offer exclusive access to a waterfront clubhouse, a club-only beach area and recreational water activities, and Disney entertainment and activities.

More information about Cotino is available at the StorylivingbyDisney.com website. Prospective homebuyers can sign up to receive email updates about the project.
